Genuinely curious.. how do you reconcile astrological study with Orthodoxy? Does your priest have anything to say about this? I know there are certain books on confession that list consulting the stars as a sin that needs to be repented of. I ask because I was into astrology before my conversion, and feel sometimes its a shame I had to leave it behind, because it can point to things that are otherwise hard to see, but undoubtedly has led many spiritual seekers astray, as is so evident to see in new age circles. So I don't ask these questions in an antagonistic way, but as someone who's sincerely curious.
I appreciate the question! Yes, I have talked to my priest about astrology several times and he has read many of my articles. He is of the same opinion as me: as long as you aren't consulting the stars as spiritual guides on what you OUGHT to do, then it is fine. He isn't opposed to the idea that astrological placements can be correlated with personality traits, but he personally doesn't have much interest in it. I also don't believe that you can predict specific future events based on astrology. It is a lot like predicting the weather: you can look at the circumstances and say that some weather events are more likely than others, but there is no guarantees.

Astrology and faith are compatible. The magi understood this. The stars and the seasons are a gift to guide us so that we can correctly discern the times. Thank you. This was really good.
My Saturn is in Aries, which means I’m coming up on my first Saturn return… should be a fun time lol
AND Uranus is about to move into Gemini in about a month or so; last time 3 times it was there was WW2, the US Civil War, and the American Revolution. Yay!
And re: Uranus I have a friend who's obsessed with the Uranus pattern. Once you see it it's pretty hard to miss.
But hey if the times call for war, then war it is. My Substack has a series of posts about astrology told through the life journey of an Aries Sun named Suburban Warlord (pssst it's me)
Must be nice. I'm a Taurus Sun/Pisces Moon. I have ZERO fire signs in my chart except Saturn in Aries, also have a 12th house Mars. Needless to say, I'm pretty sluggish
Thank you so much! That’s a high compliment for me, I appreciate it.
I talk to Gryphon about astrology a decent amount, he has said the same thing to me about how difficult it is to find reliable interpretations in the modern world. I just try my best to correlate the astrological themes to data points I see with my own eyes.

While I am largely unfamiliar with astrology, I see the same signs. These events are lightning rods in the culture wars.

I agree, and thank you so much for the compliment!
'Metcalf' apparently means 'sacrifice'. The collective unconscious seems to be leaking.
And guess what, Saturn is also moving into Aries on May 25th :)

I'll give it a deeper look, thanks for sharing!
yes I like to call the cardinal+fixed fire combo my "internal combustion engine"

hey, at least you're more than just a lot of hot air! 🤭
Really fascinating stuff!
Considering how hard Galahad said astrology in the modern day was. You're getting pretty good at it 👍
